In the book of Revelation 3:14–18 Jesus Christ speaks to the church in Laodicea, rebuking them for being spiritually “lukewarm”—neither fully devoted nor completely opposed to God. They believed they were rich and self-sufficient, but spiritually they were poor, blind, and naked. Jesus urges them to seek true spiritual riches, righteousness, and understanding from Him so they can be spiritually restored and renewed.
